JOURNEYMAN DIESEL MECHANIC

Reporting to the Operations and Maintenance Supervisor, the Diesel Mechanic will provide journeyman level mechanical work in support of diesel generators and associated equipment including engines, pumps, compressors, radiators, heat exchangers, lube oil systems, fuel oil systems, cooling systems, vehicles and other mechanical equipment for the Regional Operations. Incumbent must be willing to travel within the northern areas by small aircraft.

Preference will be given to beneficiaries of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement.

Salary starts at $36.13 per hour. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including location allowance of $12,846.00 per annum and relocation assistance. This position is included in the Nunavut Employee’s Union.

Qulliq Energy Corporation generates electricity and develops energy options under the trade name of Nunavut Power, and is responsible for meeting the electricity needs of the citizens of Nunavut. The Corporation operates the Nunavut Energy Centre, addressing electrical supply and energy issues for all Nunavummiut.
